Testimonials from amazing people who Krissi worked with when they were children and young adults
"I began my penultimate year at Burton Borough School when Krissi took on the role of Principal.
From the start, her unwavering commitment to helping every student reach their full potential was clear – her leadership style was both supportive and motivating.
I distinctly recall one of her early assemblies, where she highlighted the significance of a ‘growth mindset’ and the role of hard work and perseverance in skill development alongside the importance of having the right support and guidance. This was invaluable during my time at school.
Krissi’s innovative implementation of the ‘Small Schools’ structure very much embodied these ideals, giving us as students a new-and-improved supportive learning environment.
Under her leadership, I felt encouraged to push myself academically, especially in subjects I had previously avoided due to fear of failure. I owe much of my academic success to Krissi’s support."

I was fortunate enough to be taught by Krissi in what must have been her first teaching job, somewhat 20 years ago now. The subject she taught at the time was music, however the lessons she taught were much broader than that.
What Krissi excelled at, was her approach and adaptability to teach every student as an individual, yet in a group setting. It was never a case of “one size fits all”, and every student was made to feel valued.
We were personally catered for and was taught in a way that worked best for us, not in a way that worked best or in a way that was easiest for Krissi.
Krissi had an understanding of what each student needed in order for them to be the best version of themselves. For me, having a teacher that understood me made a world of difference and gave me a sense of belonging. I knew I could always rely on Krissi and that I could approach her about anything, whether that be the challenges of schoolwork or the anxieties of teenage life. It always felt like she genuinely cared, not because she had to, but because that’s the nature of who she is.
This brought out a confidence in me and a desire to want to challenge myself, knowing that failure was part of success. This is still a confidence and mindset I possess today!
Krissi played a key role in my adolescence years and is someone whose path and progress I’ve monitored from afar as I moved though my twenties and into my thirties and into parenthood.
What’s refreshing to see, is after years of mastering her trade, whether that be as a Music Teacher, a Headteacher or a Coach, Krissi’s passion and desire to help people is still just as strong and apparent now as it’s always been and I have no doubt she will continue to help, understand and care for anyone that allows her to so.
Now as a parent of an 8-year-old I appreciate and see the value in her work now more than ever. Being a parent can be hard, as can being a child, so let Krissi help!
I have full confidence that she can play a huge role in yours and your child’s journey!

I am privileged to have a list of influential teachers all throughout my life even today. Miss Carter is amongst those at the very top of that list. Miss Carter was my Music teacher at Addington High School in Croydon, a notoriously difficult area in so many ways. I was never academically challenged, and as an overly-energetic and chatty student I could be very disruptive if the work was completed or otherwise did not have my attention.
Miss Carter projected warmth and understanding in the way she engaged her students, and done so in the instant she met us for the first time. She had all of the qualities of the archetypical fun teacher that all teenagers wish for, but was not fun for the sake of being fun.
What Miss Carter did with her approach to teaching was to establish meaningful relationships and connections to her students, so that she could help us recognise what we were capable of and what direction we could go in if we moved with intent. Instead of someone being there to manage behaviour, I saw someone that was helping me get the best out of myself, for myself: someone who genuinely cared. Miss Carter developed a wonderful relationship with my parents, and similarly with so many other students and their families.
Despite Miss Carter teaching me to play 5 instruments and even sing in front of the school, music has no importance in my professional life as a lecturer and legal researcher. However, I look at that the musical aspect of myself with exceptional pride because of the process of self-discovery and confidence building that Miss Carter provided to me - and I take those lessons into the very core of my approach to building relationships with others, including the teaching of my own students.
I am extremely grateful to still be in contact with Miss Carter today, and will refuse to call her by her first name out of respect for the person she helped me build myself into. I aspire to inspire the way that she has and provide support and guidance to me as an adult to this day.
